Hussein El-Yassih varies bail conditions on multiple sex charges

A western Sydney HR boss facing multiple sexual assault and touching charges has had a small win court in the lead up to his trial.

A HR boss from Greystanes facing more than a dozen sex charges has had a small win in court in the lead up to his trial.

Hussein Al-Yassih faces 20 charges, including 13 counts of sexually touch another person, four of aggravated sexual assault – victim under authority of offender and two of carry out sexual act with another.

In Downing Centre District Court on Friday, his solicitor Abbas Soukie applied for a bail variation, which was not opposed by prosecutor Ellyse McGee.

The 31-year-old was originally granted bail on August 24, 2021 on multiple conditions which included reporting daily to the Merrylands police station, surrendering his passport, to live in Greystanes and not approach or come within 500m of any point of an interstate or international departure.

His bail was varied on June 20 where he was able to possess a mobile phone but could apply for new travel documents or use social media.

As part of his bail conditions, Al-Yassih was not to be employed at Crown Plaza Burwood “or at any role that involves the direct management of female employees under the age of 25”.

In court on Friday, the Greystanes man had his bail successfully varied on the proviso he provide his telephone and access codes to NSW police on request.

It was ordered Al-Yassih must not enable or activate any expiry or self deleting message times which allow messages or media to be deleted after a specific time.

The 31-year-old was listed for trial on May 13, 2024.
