James Ruse Agricultural High School and Matthew Pearce Public School are the top performing NAPLAN schools in Sydney’s west and northwest in 2024.
An independent analysis of newly released 2024 NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which performed the best in the year 5 and year 9 tests.
Matthew Pearce Public School, in Baulkham Hills, had the best primary results of any school in western Sydney – which encompasses The Hills – scoring an average of 592.2.
Dural Public School was the second best for the region with an average score of 578.4, while Oakhill Drive Public School in Castle Hill was the third best with an average score of 577.6.
The top performing secondary school was James Ruse Agricultural High School, in Carlingford, where the average result was 736.2.
Baulkham Hills High School was the second best for the region with an average score of 715.6, while Girraween High School was the third best with an average score of 698.8.
To determine how each school performed in 2024, the scores for all five test subjects for the student cohort (year 5 or year 9) were combined and the average found.
Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were excluded from the analysis.
The figures were independently compiled from the federal government’s MySchool website.
