Tucked away on Horwood Place is an unassuming, authentic Japanese haven.

Touka Japanese Yakiniku Restaurant & Bar offers barbecue and traditional dishes in a beautiful setting right in the heart of Parramatta.

The restaurant has comfy booths with pits for barbecuing as well as a bar area for sake and cocktails, and a central outdoor courtyard.

Staff are friendly and happy to guide diners through the menu options, and the prices are reasonable.

If you’re keen to grill, the yakiniku menu has plenty of beef, pork, chicken and seafood options.

For those unsure of what to order, their popular lunchtime bento sets includes a little of everything; meat, sashimi, rice, salad, miso soup, pickles and edamame.

Touka is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday-Sundays and is closed Mondays.
