A MAN has been shot and killed in a suburban home in Guildford after what neighbours have described as a night of “screams”.
Emergency services were called to the house on Kennedy St about 11.05pm, following reports a man had been shot.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced the man, 36, dead.
It’s believed he was shot at least once in the chest and went into cardiac arrest before emergency services arrived.
Police have now established Stikeforce Buttle to follow “strong lines of enquiry” regarding the shooting, and maintain that while it was a targeted attack it does not appear to be related to the spate of shootings across western Sydney.
Police are reportedly looking for up to three men over the shooting.
Police said the victim was visiting the Kennedy St home at the time of the shooting.
The NSW Police Public Order and Riot Squad also attended the cul-de-sac along with Police Rescue.
The man’s body was carried out from inside the property this morning as detectives and forensics officers combed the eclectic home.
Police also seized a silver Mercedes Benz from outside the property.
Neighbour Foaoud, who did not wish to provide his surname, said he was sitting on his back deck last night about 11pm when he heard an argument from the house.
“I said to my daughter-in-law, ‘why are these people always fighting?’” he said.
“She told me, ‘they always make noise and yell’. Even though it was raining I could hear them swearing.”
Another neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed it was not the first time police had been called to the street.
“Police were here six months ago, at least six or seven cars. I don’t know if it was the same house, but they were in that street,” they said.
The area was the scene of a knife attack in October 2015 but police have said the two incidents were unrelated.
Neighbours believed the property had been vacant for some time but music used to sound all night from the back courtyard, elaborately adorned in Asian religious ceremonial statues and decorations.
The search is now on for two people who were believed to also be inside the property at the time of the attack.
Strikeforce Buttle, with the assistance of Rosehill Local Area Command, have established the crime scene at the Guildford home and have stated that the attack will not be examined by Strikeforce Osprey, which is currently investigating up to eight shootings, including the death of underworld mafia figue Pasquale Barbaro in November last year.
