Group of witnesses make citizen’s arrest on Granville ‘armed’ robber
A group of western Sydney bystanders have made a citizen’s arrest after a robber “armed” with a vape pen tried to threaten staff at two stores.

Bystanders have intervened after an alleged robber threatened staff at two stores in western Sydney.
A citizen’s arrest was made after the robber tried to rob a grocery store and a pharmacy in Granville.
The man allegedly entered the pharmacy on South St in Granville at 7pm on Monday and threatened the store worker with his vape-pen, which he posed as a gun.
The thief, a 24-year-old from Granville, stole money from the register and was chased on foot by a witness to a nearby pharmacy on South St.
He again threatened the attendants and demanded cash from the register, when he was confronted by members of the public who forced him out of the pharmacy.
He was restrained and police were called, he was later arrested and charged with armed robbery and attempted armed robbery.
The Granville man was taken to Westmead Hospital for assessment, and later taken to Granville police station where he was charged.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Court.
