Auburn armed robberies: CCTV footage released
CCTV footage of thieves wielding weapons in a string of armed robberies in a western Sydney suburb has emerged.

Auburn detectives are calling for public assistance after four armed robberies across the suburb in June and July – including three when the plucky shop owners confronted the offenders.
On Sunday June 28, a masked man demanded money at a Northumberland Rd mixed business at 7.10pm when he fled empty-handed after the owner chased him out of the shop.
The second incident occurred at a grocery shop on Cumberland Rd shortly before 11pm on Thursday July 2 when a masked man wielding a knife threatened the shop owner and demanded cash but the owner also chased him out of the shop.
The third attempt was at the same Cumberland Rd grocery store was also unsuccessful on Wednesday July 8 when a pair of men fled empty-handed after the owner threw a pot of hot coffee on them about 10.50pm.
The men were armed with a pistol and demanded cash.
The fourth robbery, on July 13, three men returned to the same mixed business at Northumberland Rd as they hit on June 28.
But one of the men assaulted the store owner and held him on the ground and the other two bandits grabbed the cash from the register before fleeing.
As inquiries continue, investigators have now released CCTV footage of the robberies and are appealing for public assistance.
