Joel Foster is a rare cricketing talent.

After getting his first taste of representative cricket at just 10, the now 16 year-old became one of the youngest players ever to play grade for Northern District when he debuted for the club at just 14.

But with such talent comes a lot of pressure.

Not that it seems to matter to Joel.

Following his grade debut, Joel’s game has gone from strength to strength.

Last year, he was named co-captain of a combined Northern District and Hornsby, Ku-ring-gai & Hills District u/15 team for a tour of Sri Lanka.

He also featured alongside Steve Waugh’s son Austin in the Cricket Australia U/16 team.

He has also been a member of the Cricket NSW Emerging Blues squad.

Joel’s breakout 2015 finished on a high with his 51 wickets helping Northern District to a fifth grade premiership.

Just this week, he was named captain of the 13-man Sydney Metropolitan team to compete in the U/17 National Championships in Brisbane at the end of September.

Joel’s dad Mark says he was born to play cricket.

“He never wanted to play anything else,” Mr Foster said.
