A physiotherapist from Sydney’s north shore is alleged to have ‘massaged’ the breasts of a female patient without her consent.

The Northern District Times can reveal Wah Fu Wong, also known as Ray Wong, was charged with two counts of sexually touching a female patient without her consent, one being an aggravated charge as she was under his care, in May.

Wong, 37, from Chatswood is the head physiotherapist and director of Active Motion Physiotherapy and Wellness Clinic on Blaxland Road.

Wong, who is an alumni at the University of Sydney, was excused from Burwood Local Court on what was supposed to be his first appearance last week.

In court, his lawyer entered pleas of not guilty to both charges and magistrate Greg Grogin ordered the brief of evidence to be served by September 7.

Wong is alleged to have “placed both his hands on top of the woman’s breasts and massaged them” between 10am and 1pm on May 13, according to police facts.

On Tuesday, Wong was sighted walking metres away from his Blaxland Road clinic donning a black polo shirt and puffer vest.

When approached by this reporter he confirmed he was not taking any appointments at the moment.

“I’m speaking to a lawyer at the moment so I prefer to not speak directly,” he told The Times.

“There’s conditions in place,” he said.

“Until it’s cleared I’d rather not speak.”

Wong who specialises in pelvis and foot biomechanics and neuromuscular functions has a second clinic on Spring Street in Chatswood.

He has previously worked with a range of professional athletes and at Castle Towers Medical before opening his Ryde physiotherapy in 2010, according to his clinic’s bio page.

It further reads he is a “lover of Brazilians, cultures and history, farmer at heart and science nerd.”

Wong was arrested and charged after Ryde police executed a search warrant at his clinic on May 20 and has been on bail since.

His bail conditions include not being able to perform any physical treatments on female clients in person and not to contact the complainant.

Wong’s matter has been adjourned to late September.

Late on Wednesday night Mr Wong released the following statement:

“These allegations against me are completely untrue. I have run a professional physiotherapy practice without incident for 10 years and everything I have done in my practice has been in accordance with the principles of delivering the appropriate treatment to my clients. I look forward to defending these spurious allegations in court and clearing my name”.
