A man has suffered serious head injuries after he was hit by a car on a busy road in Sydney’s north.
Emergency services were called to treat an 84-year-old male after a vehicle collided with him on Lane Cove Road in North Ryde on Tuesday just before 1pm.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked shortly after 1pm and landed 10 minutes later at North Ryde Public School where the specialist doctor and critical care paramedic made their way to the scene of the incident.
NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment and CareFlight’s clinical team worked to stabilise the man, intubating and placing him into an induced coma at the scene.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said multiple crews were called just before 1pm to treat the man and his head injury.
The man was transported by road ambulance in a serious condition to Royal North Shore Hospital.
