A man is in a critical condition after an intruder came through his bedroom window and allegedly attacked him with a guitar in Sydney’s north yesterday.
Police were called to a unit on Wharf Rd in Gladesville about 8.25am on Monday.
Police will allege a man, 36, and woman, 31, were sleeping inside their unit when they were woken by a man standing beside their bed who had allegedly climbed through the bedroom window.
The intruder then grabbed a guitar from the room and allegedly hit the man over the head before running away from the unit.
The 36-year-old man suffered critical head injuries and was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
He remains in intensive care.
A hospital spokesman confirmed the man was still in a critical condition on Tuesday morning.
The 31-year-old woman was not injured.
Police are now seeking help from the public to locate a man who they believe can assist with inquiries.
He is described as being of caucasian appearance, aged between 30-35, with light brown hair and a long beard.
