A HOTEL group has gained approval to build an up-market pub that would try to lure Macquarie Park’s business community.

The Governor Hotel will be at 9-13 Waterloo Rd, near Wicks Rd, and offer casual and fine dining over three levels. Foods like lobster roll, Wagyu beef and trout can be expected on the menu.

Ryde Council approved the application late last month. The licensed venue fits the council’s vision to foster a night-time economy in the business park.

The hotel can trade from 7am to 3am Monday to Saturday, and from 7am to midnight on Sundays.

The three-storey office building currently occupying the site will be modified.

The hotel group operates Hills venues the Australian Hotel and Brewery, the Bella Vista Hotel and the Hillside Hotel.

It has previously said it hopes to open the Macquarie Park hotel later this year.
