A man accused of carrying out a sex act in front of two children has been found after he escaped from a hospital through a faulty door.

Dimce Ristovski, 55, was charged with obscene exposure and committing a sex act in front of two children in Epping after allegedly exposing himself to a 13-year-old girl and 12-year-old boy on May 31.

The Islington man, also known as Jimmy, was ordered by a court last Monday to undergo a mental health assessment and be detained at Concord Hospital. Yet within hours of his admission, he had escaped through a faulty door.

Ristovski was found five days later on Sussex St in Sydney’s CBD on Saturday, June 6.

“It looks like he’s a found person,” a NSW Police spokesman told The Northern District Times on Tuesday morning.

“He was located in the early hours of June 6 in the city.

“He’s been taken back to hospital.”

Ristovski has not been slapped with any new charges in relation to the absconding.

Last week, The Times revealed the man escaped through a faulty door at the hospital.

A Sydney Local Health District spokesman confirmed the patient absconded from the Admissions Centre at the Concord Centre for Mental Health.

“Police were notified immediately and security staff from Concord Repatriation General Hospital assisted in searching for the patient,” the spokesman said.

“It has been established the patient absconded through a faulty door, which has been fixed.

“Doors and locks are checked regularly and any repairs required are attended to urgently.”
