Tattoos and missing tooth clues to man wanted for child approach

POLICE are seeking witnesses to an incident in which a 12-year-old girl was approached at Davidson on Friday by a man with a missing front top tooth and distinctive tattoos.

POLICE are seeking witnesses to an incident in which a 12-year-old girl was approached at Davidson on Friday morning by a man with a missing front top tooth and distinctive tattoos.

The man had what is believed to have been a tattoo of a cross on his left forearm and a colourful tattoo on his right upper arm.

About 7.35am on Friday the 12 year-old-girl was waiting at a bus stop on the corner of Sir Thomas Mitchell Rd and Twynam Rd when a white van stopped in front of her.

Police have been told a man driving the vehicle spoke to the girl, before she ran from the scene.

Police were notified and commenced an investigation.

The man was described as being of caucasian appearance, aged in his 40s, about 170cm tall, with a large nose, black bushy eyebrows, a missing front top tooth, brown short hair, with a tattoo of what is believed to be a cross on his left forearm, and a colourful tattoo on his right upper arm.

The man was last seen wearing blue jeans and a cream-coloured shirt with the sleeves rolled-up.

The vehicle was described as being a rusty, white panel van with a smashed left front-side mirror.
