JOSHUA Immaraj doesn’t know who rescued him from the bottom of Dee Why rock pool and saved his life but yesterday he met two of the Warringah lifeguards who revived him at the side of the pool before he was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
“I had a seizure in the pool,” he said.
“I don’t even remember going into the pool – I had a bit of memory loss and have no memory of being on the side of the pool.
“I woke up in hospital three days later and I was OK.
“They did scans and found there was no brain damage.
“I just want to say a big thank you to everyone and I’d really like to find out who pulled me out of the pool.”
While Mr Immaraj was being brought to the side of the pool, the duress alarm alerted lifeguards Scott Mortimer, Steve Downman and Kailan Collins, who raced around to the pool and gave him CPR and oxygen before paramedics arrived and rushed him to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.
Mr Immaraj’s mother said she couldn’t thank those who saved her son’s life enough and hopes to find the person who dragged him from the bottom of the pool.
“All those who attended him feared he would be brain damaged if he survived this incident but thanks to a miracle-working God, he was home and back to normal within three days,” she said.
“To the person who found his body at the bottom of the pool, a big thank you.”
