COOKING sensations Will Stewart and Steve Flood swap the kitchen for the judges’ table this weekend to reappear on the show which made them famous.
The Manly duo scooped the big prize on last year’s My Kitchen Rules and will join a group of former contestants returning to give their verdict on the new crop of hopefuls on the Channel 7 show.
And lads, who originally hail from Britain, said it was a relief to be back in the studio without the pressure of having to cook.
“It’s a big honour for us,” Stewart said. “I had a smile on my face when I walked into the studio.”
Flood said: “We’ve gone from winners to judges.”
As for who’s going to take their title this year, the pair reckon Zana and Gianni are the dark horses while Anna and Jordan should probably win.
Also among the familiar faces joining the pair at the judges table are Dan and Steph, who won series four, alongside Robert and Lynzey plus Ash and Camilla from last year.
Two teams will cook main courses and two teams will cook desserts before the lowest scorers are sent home by the former contestants plus judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel.
Meanwhile, Stewart and Flood are still hoping to return to the screen with their own TV show — but said making a pilot was on hold for now. However their dream of creating their own cookbook was on track.
They have spent the week shooting photographs for their first cookery tome, due out around September.
Titled Will And Steve: The Curious Cook And The Aspiring Chef, it’s packed with more than 100 recipes and is being produced by mainstream publisher Harlequin.
“It’s another exciting part of our food journey,” Stewart said. “It’s a really nice thing when they respect our dream but get us along the way.”
But it’s not going to be too complicated for new cooks to follow.
Flood said: “All of the food is very achievable.”
William Meppem, a top food photographer who works with food queen Donna Hay, has been shooting the images — and they said no trickery was involved in making the dishes look mouth-watering.
