MANLY Waterworks manager Daniel Forlonge chained himself to the park’s fence in protest on Friday – after the local attraction was handed an eviction notice earlier this week.
A termination of lease notice was given to the water park on Wednesday on the grounds that they had failed to pay rent.
Park director, Patricio Lillo, claims they have paid their rent up until June 2016.
“The rent was paid in advance. We are up to date to June 2016,” he said.
The receiver, Said Jahani, of Grant Thornton, confirmed the lease was terminated after careful consideration and in accordance with legal advice “following a failure to recover any rent money from Waterworks Pty Ltd over the past two years.”
Mr Forlonge said they will fight the eviction notice.
“I would like to appeal to my community of the northern beaches and my loyal customers throughout Sydney – this is happening, this is real,” he said.
Surf Educators International – who are also sublessee’s of Manly Bathers Pavilion – were also issued with a letter to vacate.

MANLY HARBOURSIDE LAND UP FOR GRABS
Director of the business, Craig Riddington, said they would be disappointed to leave and are looking at their legal rights.
“I’ve got faith that it will all work out,” Mr Riddington said.
“We believe it won’t come to that.”
It’s understood a shortlist of prospective buyers for the pavilion’s leasehold entitlements has been drawn up.
Manly Bathers Pavilion is on harbourside land owned by the State Government and leased out.
The lease will run until 2040.
The site encompasses the restaurant, Manly Waterworks, cafes and offices.
