Manly Sea Eagles player Liam Knight has been charged with high range drink driving and exceeding the speed limit by nearly double in Frenchs Forest in the early hours of this morning.
At around 1.15am, police were stopped on the corner of Forest Way and Warringah Rd when they allegedly saw the 21-year-old drive past speeding.
Police followed the car and after catching up to it and claim they clocked him doing 137km/h in a 70km zone.
The Narrabeen local pulled over after seeing police. A breath test was conducted and returned a positive reading.
Knight was arrested and taken back to Frenchs Forest police station.
He was subjected to a breath test where he returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.176.
He was charged with high-range drink driving and exceeding speed over 45km hour.
He was also issued with a license suspension notice and his license was immediately confiscated.
Police say Knight was allegedly behaving in a cocky manner when he was detained.
The club released a statement a short time ago saying that the prop has been stood down following the incident and that it had been reported to the NRL integrity unit.
He is due to face Manly court on April 20.
