THE public is being invited to view the submissions report compiling feedback on the Review of Environmental Factors for Stage Two of the Mona Vale Rd upgrade.

The upgrade is for the eastern section of Mona Vale Rd, between Mona Vale and Ingleside.

Last year the community was invited to provide feedback on the Review of Environmental Factors and a report has now been compiled to respond to the 156 submissions received from community members, interest groups and government agencies.

Pittwater MP Rob Stokes said Mona Vale Rd is notorious and a major source of frustration for thousands of motorists every day.

He said the plan was to widen the road to four lanes between Foley St at Mona Vale and Manor Rd at Ingleside.

“The project includes bus priority measures, fauna connectivity upgrades, safety enhancements, a truck safety area and cyclist and pedestrian pathways,” he said.

“Key topics raised during the consultation period included access arrangements at Emma St, the location of the truck safety area, property impacts, fauna crossings and speed limits.

“The Emma St intersection design has been amended to retain all existing traffic movements in and out of Emma St.

“The truck safety area has been relocated 300m further west on Mona Vale Rd away from residential properties on Walana Cres and Wallaby Cct and the Mona Vale Cemetery.

“Changes have been made to the intersection of Ponderosa Pde and Samuel St to minimise property acquisition.

“To minimise impacts on the environment, the alignment of the new shared cycle and pedestrian pathway has also been changed to avoid the Katandra Bushland Sanctuary.”
