Bentley the bulldog behind hilarious social media post

MEET Bentley the bulldog. He eats just about anything he can sink his teeth into — and this week he was behind one of the week’s most hilarious social media posts.

Bentley the British bulldog decided to eat some of the lounge room furniture one day but it's OK, he is all right.

THE odd dining antics of Bentley the British bulldog resulted in a hilarious social media post after the pooch ate two pieces of noughts and crosses gameboard.

The adorable but mischievous pet from Seaforth in Sydney’s north, swallowed two cross pieces from the board game last week.

But quick-thinking owner Chris Tappenden turned to social media in a quest to replace the pieces with a very funny post.

Mr Tappenden posted the unique request to the Northern Beaches Buy/Swap/Sell Facebook page. It read: “Wanted: 2 x new crosses. The dog ate ours.”

Not surprisingly the post instigated hundreds of comments, ranging from “Best post ever” to “Is he now a bulldog cross?”

Mr Tappenden’s wife, Felecia, said it has become the norm for one-year-old Bentley to eat virtually anything and everything he can get his teeth into.

She said the objects always pass through and out of his body — one way or the other. — without causing Bentley much stress.

“We had an accountant over one day and he chewed the handle off the briefcase ... it was so embarrassing,” she said. “Another time he ate the end of a builder’s hammer.

“I’ve only just started to like him because he’s a bit of a pain and he stinks ... but I do love him.”

Long before the social media post, Bentley proved he has the stomach to handle fame on the northern beaches.

“Whenever we take Bentley out you get at least one person taking photos and at least half a dozen saying ‘look at that dog’,” Mrs Tappenden said.

He’s also an Instagram star (@bullyboybentley), with more than 1300 people keeping tabs on what he’s up to.
