Another truck crash at the foot of Beacon Hill Rd at Brookvale
A TRUCK crashed into the fence of Brookvale Public School today – the fourth incident of its type in the past six years – and police are now investigating the crash.

A TRUCK crashed into the fence of Brookvale Public School today – the fourth incident of its type in the past six years.
The large truck travelled down Beacon Hill Rd just before noon but the driver lost control at the foot of the hill near Old Pittwater Rd and crashed into the fence around the school.
No one was injured in the crash and the driver was able to get out of his truck without assistance.
He was assessed at the scene by paramedics but did not require treatment.
Police said they are now investigating whether the truck was heavier than the 3 tonne limit allowed on Beacon Hill Rd, which has a history of car and truck crashes at the foot of the hill.
In October 2010, a car lost control at the foot of Beacon Hill Rd and crashed through the fence of the Brookvale Early Learning Centre, which is in the grounds of Brookvale Public School.
In January 2011, a truck crashed at the foot of Beacon Hill Rd, went through a guardrail and into the playground of the childcare centre.
In February 2011, another truck travelling down Beacon Hill Rd lost control and crossed Old Pittwater before flipping and finishing in the carpark of the Brookvale Hotel.
In March 2011, Roads and Maritime Services agreed to drop the road’s speed limit to 50km/h and erect warning signs.
In May 2000, an out-of-control truck careered down Beacon Hill Rd before crushing two parked cars at the foot of the hill.
Police and RMS staff regularly conduct operations on Beacon Hill Rd targeting speed and weight limits of trucks using it.
About 8am today, a motorcyclist was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition after crashing into the back of a truck in Ross St at Seaforth.
