A MOSMAN bus commuter’s idea for a shelter at the stop opposite HMAS Penguin is gaining momentum.
John Wanna started a change.org petition about a month ago to build a bus shelter on Middle Head Rd near Chowder Bay Rd.
The 244 bus commuter, who travels between Wynyard and his Mosman workplace, has gathered almost 40 signatures online.
Mr Wanna said a shelter was needed for the second to last stop on the route because there was no protection from the elements.
The petition, which is also on behalf of beach and parks’ visitors, raises concern for evening commuters while outside daylight saving time.
Mr Wanna has approached the relevant body, the Harbour Trust, and hopes for a good outcome.
“The Harbour Trust recognises the importance of quality public transport infrastructure and services to its sites and is considering Mr Wanna’s proposal,” a trust spokesman said.
