Danielle Tara Hogan was granted bail at Central Local Court on Tuesday having spent the past 12 days on remand following her arrest at her North Bondi apartment on November 7.

Hogan, 24, began to well up as the court heard that media coverage over the charges had caused her anxiety and depression while behind bars.

The event planner is accused of supplying 250.2g of cocaine between August and October of this year, one of seven co-accused arrested on the same day in raids by Strike Force Northrop detectives.

She is charged with five offences: Participating in a criminal group, take part in supplying prohibited drug, found on/entering/leaving drug premises and two counts of ongoing drug supply.

Despite Magistrate Michael Crompton conceding the Crown had a “strong” prosecution case, she will spend Christmas at her parents’ home after he accepted a show cause application.

The prosecution opposed bail, telling the court Hogan had been caught on telephone intercepts and police surveillance engaged in conversations with others accused of roles in the Sydney-wide drug ring.

That she was involved in the alleged supply of more than 381g of cocaine during a two month period meant the likelihood of a full-time custodial sentence was high, the court heard.

Magistrate Crompton, however, agreed with the defence submissions that Hogan’s tender age, lack of criminal history and mental health concerns meant keeping her in jail until her trial was “not justified”.

“Whilst these are serious charges indeed … I’m satisfied the risks can be can be mitigated by the imposition of conditions,” he said.

The court heard a potential trial would likely not go ahead until 2021. “These matters will take some time to proceed,” Magistrate Crompton said.

Strict bail conditions have been imposed on the social media bombshell.

They include residing at her family home, reporting daily to Chatswood police station, not leaving home between 10pm and 6am unless accompanied by her parents, not entering a point of international departure and to surrender her passport.

She must also not contact any of her co-accused and not use any encryption apps on her mobile phone.

Hogan will return to court in January.
