The infamous yellow Lamborghini gifted by Toplace developer Jean Nassif to his wife Nissy has changed hands after it was sold by the company to help raise funds.

The bright yellow Lamborghini came with a $480,000 price tag and was gifted by Mr Nassif to his then second wife Nisserine ‘Nissy’ Nassif for Valentine’s Day in 2019.

However, amid reports the two have formally split and live apart, it can now be revealed the eye-catching Lamborghini has been sold and is gone for good – but only after a police report, which later proved to be inaccurate.

NSW Police told this publication that in late April Burwood Police Area Command officers received a report from a woman that the Lamborghini had been stolen from a shopping centre in Rhodes, in Sydney’s Inner West.

However, the force said the car had not been stolen and was instead sold.

“Following inquiries, on July 1, police were advised that the vehicle had been lawfully repossessed for sale by a company,” a NSW Police spokesman said, revealing the matter was now closed.

The identity of the woman who made the report is unclear, as is who now owns the car.

Representatives for Nissy were contacted, who declined to provide an “official comment”, but maintained their client believed the car had been stolen.

According to the car’s recent vehicle report, obtained through the Australian government’s Personal Property Securities Register, even though publicly gifted to Nissy, the car was registered for “business usage” – understood to be by Toplace.

The showy gift hit the social pages after it was posted on Instagram with Mr Nassif famously captioning the picture: “Congratulations Mrs Nassif … you like?”

It is understood Nissy is now back in Australia with the couple’s three children and is set to star in Seven’s Adventure All Stars.

dVT Group, the administrator's assigned to Toplace in July, were contacted to ascertain whether the company’s sale of the Lamborghini would go towards paying creditors but didn’t respond.

Proof of debt claims now total $630m – one of the largest property collapses in Australia – and over 500 creditors make up the owed amount.

The group went into voluntary administration on July 7, only days after a NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal resuspended Mr Nassif’s building licence for ten years and permanently barred Toplace.

It also came after more defects were identified at one of its Canterbury apartment complexes.

The administration process usually takes six weeks, although it is expected to go on for longer given its complexity and how administrators were simultaneously working through the books of more than 60 Toplace entities, which have also collapsed.

Mr Nassif has been in Lebanon since December, previously alleging it was due to health reasons

NSW Police put a warrant out for his arrest in June surrounding his alleged involvement in fraud allegations pertaining to a $150m loan, for which his daughter Ashlyn has already been charged and is before the NSW Courts.

Toplace have been uncontactable during the process and recent media coverage.
