The Sauce: Nisserine ‘Nissy’ Nassif heads out with a mate while husband Jean’s empire crumbles

The Sauce: Her husband’s crumbling empire looked to be the last thing on the mind of Nisserine “Nissy” Nassif — wife of Toplace developer Jean Nassif — when she partied with a pal.

Concrete Kings of Sydney: the developers who cashed in on the property boom

The property empire her husband built may be crumbling around him, but it appeared to be the last thing on the mind of Nisserine “Nissy” Nassif — wife of Toplace developer Jean Nassif — when she stepped out with a mate late last month.

Clearly in need of a distraction, Nissy was dressed to party in a photo posted on a friend’s Instagram account last month, wearing a killer figure-hugging black mesh bustier top and matching pants.

And, seemingly confirming her marriage is over, sans any wedding finger bling.

The glamorous founder of the Wiping Tears charity was out and about with the same friend a week later, with her mate posting a video of the pair posing and having drinks in what looked like a Sydney bar.

Nissy, who has three children with Jean, has long been rumoured to have been estranged from the developer, who has been in Lebanon for the best part of this year.

It is no surprise she is seeking the support of her friends to get through what would be a tough time for her and her family.

The Daily Telegraph recently reported how Nissy had posted a series of meme tiles on her own Instagram account, including one with the words: “You will never really see how toxic someone is until you breathe fresher air.” A far cry from the famous social media picture of Nissy in front of a yellow Lamborghini, a gift from Nassif.

Jean Nassif claims he is suffering from “anxiety, depression and stress”, with a source close to the property developer declaring he is missing his children.

With creditors preparing to meet to decide the future of Toplace — and Nissy reportedly set to star in a reality TV special — there are still many more chapters to the Nassif saga.

LEFT RIGHT OUT

Former NSW cabinet minister Andrew Constance may have missed out on the Senate vacancy created by the death of Jim Molan, but the word is that he will be first in line should Senator Marise Payne step down.

While the Right will rightfully want to claim Payne’s spot, multiple left-wing Liberal sources say the Senator could — some says “definitely will” — insist it got to her former state factional mate as part of her retirement.

Constance had been the favourite to fill the Molan vacancy, only to face an upset with former Liberal Party president Maria Kovacic taking the spot.

CON BOB

Hamish McLaren has been getting visitors in jail.
Hamish McLaren has been getting visitors in jail.

It appears convicted conman Hamish Earle McLaren still has some friends.

McLaren, who is serving a 12-year sentence for swindling more than $7.6m from people — including girlfriends and good friends — has been enjoying weekly visits from a mystery woman.

A prison source from the Wellington Correctional Centre where McLaren is doing time says a well-dressed woman, “with a blonde bob” and often wearing “a puffer jacket”, has been visiting McLaren nearly every weekend, with the pair recently spotted holding hands.

McLaren was jailed after fleecing 15 victims — including Australian fashion designer Lisa Ho and his then girlfriend Tracey Hall — in a series of frauds running from 2011 until July 2017.

During his sentencing, NSW District Court Acting Judge Colin Charteris declared McLaren to have had “absolutely no compassion to the victims”.

CORRIDOR CAPERS

It was just the fodder for gossip when federal centre-right powerbroker Alex Hawke was seen chatting to Monica Tudehope — the daughter of former NSW right faction minister Damien Tudehope — in the corridors of Parliament House on Wednesday.

With federal preselections under way, and Hawke being challenged by the right faction in his seat of Mitchell, was the former right-hand man to Scott Morrison in town to broker a deal?

One political source suggested in return for the Right backing off in Mitchell, Hawke might offer the younger Tudehope his numbers in securing a state seat such as Castle Hill should it become vacant.

Tudehope, a Sydney University law graduate who was former premier Dominic Perrottet’s deputy chief of staff until the March state election, had been tipped to nominate for Castle Hill in the lead-up to the last state election.

However, The Sauce was assured there was no “deal-making” under way, and that Monica was in parliament visiting her dad when she bumped into Hawke as he stepped out of the office of his state factional counterpart Scott Farlow.

HORSE PLAY

The email invite sent by Nationals MP Dave Layzell to NSW pollies last week about a “study tour” filled with “excitement” and “horse-related activities” screamed “day out of the office”.

But Layzell — who enthusiastically heads up the Parliamentary Friends of Racing & Breeding, and whose electorate encompasses both coal mines and horse studs — insisted the August 16 event was a much-needed meet and greet with breeders to discuss their issues and role in the industry.

As part of the trip, MPs and their partners will learn about different aspects of the racehorse breeding industry, and those with questions about the industry, animal welfare and the economic importance to NSW were encouraged to attend.

“It will encompass a full day of excitement and horse related activities,” the email said.

The day included a visit to “one of the largest horse breeding studs in the world”, a seat at a racing & breeding industry lunch at the Scone Race Club, where keynote speaker will be Racing Minister David Harris, and visits to an equine hospital construction site and Racing NSW Training Centre for Jockeys and equine industry staff.

“I’ve got a lot of horse studs in my electorate and they’re all desperate to meet the minister,” he said.

“The horse studs hate the coal mines and the coal mine hate the horse studs. I’m just being the local MP in getting it all together.”

GUESS WHO

Which former pollie is on a European summer pub crawl with two women he allegedly met at a bar in Australia? See, there is life after politics.
