The wife of embattled property developer Jean Nassif has shared a series of posts to social media.
Nissy Nassif on Monday took to Instagram with a number of story posts as her husband remains abroad after police issued a warrant for his arrest over fraud allegations.
“Them – why did you and your ex break up?” one meme read. “Me – difference in religion. He thought he was God and I thought he was Satan.”
Another story was a shared tile of a meme with the words: “You will never really see how toxic someone is until you breathe fresher air.”
And in perhaps the most telling, Nissy shared a quote from Maria Consiglio.
“You did not lose the love of your life,” it read. “You lost a parasite that was sucking the life out of you! Narcissists are not your soulmates, they are predators in disguise. You need to understand that to heal. The person at the end of the relationship is who they really are.”
A video meme of Sesame Street’s Oscar the Groucho singing about “trash” was later deleted from her feed.
Nissy, who isn’t accused of any wrongdoing, has three young children with Jean, who is more than 20 years her senior.
On June 9, the founder of major construction company Toplace, who had been reported to be in Lebanon, was the subject of an arrest warrant. Detectives attached to NSW Crime Command’s Organised Crime Squad launched an investigation into alleged financial crimes in April 2021.
The 55-year-old’s eldest daughter, Ashlyn Nassif, 27, from his previous marriage, is currently before the courts, accused of falsifying a property pre-sale contract in order to secure a $150m Westpac loan on a residential development, and has been charged with dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception and publishing false misleading material to obtain advantage.
She is yet to enter a plea.
The two companies behind that construction site, 51 OCHR and JKN Finance, were placed into receivership in March. Mr Nassif is the director of both.
In 2019, the couple blew up on social media thanks to a video that went viral of Jean gifting his younger wife a $480,000 yellow Lamborghini.
The Nassifs were subsequently mocked in spoof videos featuring used yellow items — from wheelie bins to toy cars, rubber ducks, a Teletubbies doll, a container of Vegemite, a tin of tuna and a yellow bike.
In the original video, Jean said: “Congratulations Mrs Nassif, do you like?”
Earlier this year, Mr Nassif was called to front a NSW parliamentary inquiry into allegations of impropriety at Hills Shire Council, but declined to attend as he said he would be in a remote part of Lebanon conducting business and recuperating from a medical procedure, and had intended to be overseas until March 2023.
