Sydney tourists flock to Kirribilli to photograph jacaranda trees on McDougall St

TOURISTS are flocking to Kirribilli for selfies with a beautiful canopy of jacaranda trees.
The purple blooms on McDougall St have snappers in a frenzy as they have created a dreamlike atmosphere.
Stanley Lau and Pearl Lau from Hong Kong visited the street on Monday to get their photos taken with the line of trees.
And over the weekend crowds of people flocked to the street to get the best photos for their Facebook and Instagram feeds.
Several streets on the lower north shore have burst into colour thanks to the trees.
Civic Park in North Sydney has a coating of flowers on the grass, while Miller St also has pops of purple flowers.
Residents in Lavender Bay, Wollstonecraft and Mosman are also enjoying the spectacular annual display.
The trees are native to Brazil and Argentina and the first plants are believed to have arrived in Australia in the 1850s.
Sydney’s first jacaranda was planed in the Royal Botanic Gardens.
