FED up residents have formed a group to take North Sydney Council “back to basics” and stop the infighting between councillors.

Jessica Keen — who ran for Liberal Party preselection in the North Shore state by-election eventually won by Felicity Wilson — is entering the mayoral race as the leader of an independent group calling itself CommUnity First. It aims to return the council to community management and “get North Sydney moving again”.

“We are about restoring trust in the council and good governance,” said Ms Keen, who also ran as a councillor in the 2012 council election.
