A glamorous former tennis prodigy and would-be influencer, better known for her late-night partying with Nick Kyrgios, has faced a Sydney court on a serious driving charge.
Monique Belovukovic, 26, was caught behind the wheel of a luxury Maserati SUV on the northern beaches after her licence was suspended – four years ago.
Belovukovic, of Mosman, gained international notoriety as an 18-year-old when she and a female friend were snapped by paparazzi, clubbing in London with Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios, during the 2017 Wimbledon tournament.
Kyrgios was with the women in Soho at 3am, just hours after he withdrew from the first round of the grand slam event because of a hip injury.
Belovukovic was a once-promising tennis player with aspirations of turning professional after taking out several Australian junior titles in early 2010s.
The daughter of French and Serbian parents later relocated to Nice, France to pursue her sporting career, but it was cut short by injury.
She later flagged ambitions to become an actor, model, influencer or fashion stylist in a profile posted on casting website Star Now.
Manly Local Court heard on Wednesday that Belovukovic was caught driving the Maserati Levant earlier this year along Warringah Rd at Frenchs Forest about 5pm.
Police had pulled her over after the SUV came up as having expired registration.
When officer checked if had a licence it was revealed that her P1 provisional licence had been suspended in 2021 for three months because of too many demerit points.
To get her Ps back, Belovukovic was required to pass the “Increased Traffic Offender Penalty Knowledge Test”, but she did not sit the exam.
Magistrate Daniel Reiss said her licence was suspended and it had expired in 2021.
Belovukovic pleaded guilty to one count of driving a motor vehicle while licence suspended.
But she told the court that “I was not aware I was suspended” and that she had since got her licence back.
Mr Reiss fined her $400 and disqualified her from driving for three months.
