Taree hospital death: Fifth person charged after Tuncurry stabbing

A fifth person has been quietly charged in relation to the alleged murder of a man dropped outside a hospital with stab wounds on the Mid-North Coast earlier this year.

A fifth person has been quietly charged in relation to the alleged murder of a man who was dropped at hospital in Taree with fatal wounds.

The 21-year-old woman was arrested at Taree about 1pm on Tuesday, June 20.

She was charged with conceal serious indictable offence and supply prohibited drug greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity.

The woman has been refused bail to appear before Taree Local Court on August 8.

A man and three women have already been charged in relation to the incident on the morning of Sunday, April 23 when police were called to Taree Hospital following reports a man had presented with life-threatening wounds.

The 38-year-old was assessed at the scene but could not be revived.

Initial inquiries suggest the Taree man was injured at an address on Heath Ave in Tuncurry, before being driven to hospital by a family member.

Strike Force Iteration was established to investigate the man’s death and comprised officers attached to Manning Great Lakes Police District and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

The four people already charged include a 31-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman, and two 50-year-old women and their matters remain before the courts.
