COVID-19's forgotten victims: tourism operators set to lose billions

With increased Covid-19 restrictions making it difficult for local businesses to stay open during the pandemic, there’s no time like the present to show some support to those struggling.

A new concept kickstarted by Port Macquarie Council called ‘Taste Trails’ aims to inject some much-needed life back into the local economy, while showcasing the region’s inspiring sights, tastes and sounds to locals while they holiday at home.

The new ‘Taste Trails’ program has been launched which offers an insider’s guide to the best local locations to eat, drink and stop between Telegraph Point and Kew via Byaburra.

The guide includes maps and drive times, with specially curated stops in between where you can create you own trail experience and make the most of your time at home.

There are more than 40 stops along the trail, with local businesses offering an array of different experiences.

Plus, if you’re a NSW resident, don‘t forget to use your Dine & Discover vouchers where you can.

More than $100 worth of vouchers per eligible adult are still open for use up until August 30. It‘s a great initiative to get everyone exploring the region and keeping the economy moving.

Here’s a sneak peak five of the top 40 places on the trail to discover.
