Police have released video footage and appealed for help from the public after a man allegedly held up a Mid-North Coast bar at knifepoint.
Mid North Coast Police District officers launched Strike Force Sagittarius on May 3 to investigate the terrifying armed robbery at Lake Cathie.
Police were called to the business on Evan St about 10pm on the day and were told a man had walked into the licenced premises and up to the bar.
He demanded money from a 20-year-old woman and a 60-year-old woman before pulling out a knife and threatening them both.
Police state the man “fled the scene with cash in a Honda” and fortunately no one was physically injured during the robbery.
Officers have released the video footage and “would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist”.
The man – the alleged robber – has been described as Caucasian and about 180 centimetres tall. He was wearing a black mask over the bottom half of his face and reported to be wearing a grey hooded jumper, black trackpants, pink rubber gloves and black shoes, while carrying a number of grocery bags.
The vehicle which was involved has been described as a 2007 Honda CRV with roof racks and damage to the rear left bumper and wheel arch.
Police urged anyone with information or dashcam footage to phone Port Macquarie Police Station, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
