Police allege 50-year-old woman Kylie Van Acker was making and selling psychedelic drugs on a large scale at her Port Macquarie home.
About 10am on Wednesday, police from the Coffs Harbour Region Enforcement Squad – assisted by the Mid North Coast Police District – executed a search warrant at a property on Bourne St.
During the search, police allegedly located and seized several items of interest including psilocybin, steroids, a firearm, ammunition and drug-related paraphernalia.
Police will allege in court that the premises was being used for the illegal manufacture and supply of psilocybin.
Psilocybin is a hallucinogenic substance in certain types of mushrooms, commonly referred to as ‘magic mushrooms.’
Van Acker was arrested and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station where she was charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.
She has also been charged with both manufacturing and supplying a large commercial quantity of prohibited drugs.
In addition to these drug-related matters, she has been charged with possessing an unauthorised pistol, not keeping a firearm safely and possessing ammunition without the proper permit.
She was remanded in custody following her arrest and appeared before Port Macquarie Local Court on Thursday August 8 where she was refused bail.
The matter was adjourned to October 10.
