Kew hotel alleged robbery Kempsey arrests; police appeal for information

Police investigating an armed hotel hold-up on the Mid-North Coast have arrested two men but a third is still on the run. Here’s what we know.

Two men have been charged in relation to an alleged armed robbery at a pub on the Mid-North Coast but a third is still on the run.

Isaac Dumas, 30, and Jacob Cochrane, 31, were arrested at Kempsey Police Station on Wednesday, August 28.

Both were charged with aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offence with people present.

The pair were also charged with stealing a motor vehicle and robbery in company. They were refused bail.

Now police are appealing for information to help them find a third person they believe could be involved in the alleged robbery at Kew earlier this year.

Officers attached to Mid-North Coast Police District were told three males had allegedly broken in and threatened staff with bladed weapons before leaving with cash.

No one was injured and police established a crime scene.

Detectives attached to State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Sandler to investigate the incident.

During the investigation, detectives located the getaway car involved in the robbery – an allegedly stolen blue Subaru WRX sedan with the NSW registration DLV62B – in bushland near Port Macquarie Airport.

As investigations continue detectives are appealing to the public to identify a third man involved in the alleged robbery.

The man was the front seat passenger of the vehicle before the time of the alleged robbery.
