Most cricketers score their first century in Premier Cricket before going on to greater things.
Not Jack Edwards, a player tipped to be making a mark for Australia sooner than later.
Long identified as a rising star by NSW Cricket, the Manly Warringah player has already shown top form for the Blues scoring a first-class century and a limited-over century for his state.
But it took until this weekend for the young gun, who is a member of the Sydney Sixers squad, to notch up his first century of NSW Premier Cricket against Randwick Petersham.
Edwards (c JT Ralston b D Singh) made a whopping 107 in the match in an impressive performance.
The youngster made his first-grade debut in the 2016/17 season and prior to Saturday had batted 45 times for 1012 runs at 25.30, with six half-centuries.
He came close to a century with his 97 against Fairfield-Liverpool in 2018/19.
Eleven of his innings were in T20 matches with the 20-year-old top order batsman scoring 84 and 83 in successive T20 matches last season.
The Belvidere Cup is currently being lead by Edward’s Manly Warringah club who have four wins and one draw to their name this season.
Sydney University are in second place with three wins a draw and a loss followed by Sydney with three wins and two losses, Randwick Petersham with three wins and two losses, Northern District with three wins and two losses and Eastern Suburbs with three wins and two losses.
