SEA Eagles forward Jake Trbojevic heads into his second State of Origin clash against Queensland at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday feeing more confident after an impressive debut in the opening game of this year’s series.

While playing at a packed Suncorp Stadium is always a daunting prospect, Trbojevic was not overawed by the occasion and made a great contribution to the Blues’ 28-4 victory.

In a typical workhorse performance Trbojevic made 10 runs for a total of 86m as well as 23 tackles and showed he will be a fixture in the NSW squad for many years to come.

“I’m still a bit nervous but that is to be expected of me,” he told the Manly Daily.

“It’s probably a bit better because I have had that experience before.

“Definitely the more you do it, the more confident you get.

“I’m really enjoying the whole week and training hard.”

Trbojevic admitted that his initiation into the State of Origin cauldron required some adjustments.

“Hopefully I’ll be a bit more used to the pace, the first game was pretty fast,” he said.

“I’ll just try and be consistent in everything I do.

“We have to work as hard as we did in that first game.

“They are always tough, they are great competitors so it is going to be a real battle out there and with Thurston and Slater they are going to be a better side.”

Trbojevic is excited about the prospect of playing his first Origin game in Sydney.

“Playing in front of a home crowd will be awesome and hopefully there is a big crowd of blue wigs,” he said.

With the squad having yesterday off, Trbojevic headed out for a game of golf with NSW team mates including James Maloney.
