The woman, from Auburn, was struck close to the same spot a 13-year-old boy was hit by a ute and badly injured on April 9 last year.

He was also trapped under the car for a short period before he was flown by helicopter to The Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick in a critical condition.

Three ambulances, including Intensive Care Paramedics and the NSW Ambulance rescue helicopter were called to the scene on Tuesday.

Northern Beaches Police said the woman was hit by a 4WD vehicle driven by a 49-year-old man.

The driver, from Manly, was breath tested and returned a negative reading.

When paramedics arrived they found the woman trapped under the Golf, but were able to reach her to provide treatment and reassurance while NSW Fire & Rescue officers worked to free her.

A man, who was working nearby, said the incident occurred directly in front of the Little Lane centre.

“Police blocked the road off for while the Fire & Rescue guys got her out.”

After she was removed from under the vehicle, she was stabilised at the scene before being taken by road to Royal North Hospital.

The ambulance helicopter was not needed.
