A couple has been caught stealing multiple cans of baby formula from a Sydney supermarket.
Huang Shen, 40 and his 41-year-old female partner, Jai Yin, travelled from Epping, in the city’s northwest, to the northern beaches to grab the sought after dried milk powder product.
Shen and Yin appeared before Manly Local Court on Thursday to each face a charge of stealing 10 baby formula containers from the Woolworths supermarket at Mona Vale at about 6pm on April 23.
The cans were worth a total of $390, the court was told.
They both pleaded guilty to one count of shoplifting.
Shen and Yin were also charged with one count of goods in custody suspected of being stolen, or otherwise unlawfully obtained.
Police allege the pair had 15 cans of the product in their possession.
They are yet to enter pleas on that charge.
Magistrate Robyn Denes adjourned the matters to Manly Local Court on July 4 for plea or mention.
