The Chronicle can reveal the first look of Oran Park’s grand future with a flythrough video of the proposed $160 million development in the heart of town.

Features of the ambitious proposal include a landmark 12-storey apartment building, expansion of the Oran Park Podium shopping centre and multistorey residential and commercial buildings.

Greenfields Development Company general manager Mick Owens previously told the Chronicle the proposed development would deliver a vibrant, lively and active space for the growing community.

“We believe this project will make Oran Park Town more vibrant and continue with the realisation of Oran Park’s town centre,” he said. “It’s about having an experience where you can go shopping, meet people in the park, walk over to the library — we are bringing everything together.”

More than 50 new specialty shops, including a major discount department store and market-style food court, would be included in the shopping centre extension.

An application to almost double the height limit for a portion of Oran Park’s CBD, in order to pave the way for the landmark apartment complex, was endorsed by Camden Council this week and has been forwarded the Planning Department.

The proposed 12-storey, apartment building would overlook Town Park.

Greenfields Development Company told the Chronicle, when the plans were lodged in October last year, it was hopeful of the project being completed in 2021, pending approvals.
