The Oaks: Austral man charged with drink driving after crashing into guard rail on Burrogorang Rd
A search involving PolAir and the dog squad was carried out in Sydney’s southwest after a man allegedly bolted into bushland after crashing his car into a guard rail.

An Austral man who allegedly tried to escape from police after crashing his car into a metal guard rail in Sydney’s southwest has been charged.
Police were called to Burrogorang Rd, The Oaks, around 7.40pm Wednesday, following reports a Ford Falcon was allegedly speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road.
Officers located the car which had crashed into a metal guard rail but could not find the driver.
Police were notified that the driver had allegedly made a dash for nearby bushland.
With assistance from PolAir and the dog unit, police officers conducted an extensive search of the bushland around Sydney’s outer southwest regions.
Just after 9pm the Austral man, aged 47, was found and arrested.
He was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with driving recklessly, driving while disqualified and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The 47-year-old man was granted strict conditional bail. He is due to appear before Picton Local Court on November 30.
