As a 16-year-old, the head-turning talents of Ingleburn cricketer Tanveer Sangha set alight the Sydney cricket scene seeing him tour Sri Lanka with the national under-19 squad.
Now 17 and preparing for his HSC, this week’s Macarthur Chronicle Local Sports Star nominee has many good cricket judges raving about his future.
The Campbelltown Camden Ghosts leg spin sensation made his first grade debut last season, finishing the 2018/19 campaign with 19 wickets at an average of 26.21.
In November, BBL franchise Sydney Thunder announced the signing of Sangha as a development rookie and in January, he took five wickets in three matches for the Australian under-19s.
Sangha, who is of Indian heritage, said his ultimate sporting ambition was to one day don the baggy green.
He said he was “passionate to be one of the best spinners” and is preparing for a big summer ahead.
“I am training a lot but not too much, keeping the body fit and well at the same time,” he said.
