Second person charged in relation to Jamie Phillips murder
A second person has been arrested and charged in relation to the murder of Campbelltown father Jamie Phillips.
Ambarvale 46-year-old Sharyn Lee Gallagher has been the second person arrested and charged in relation to the murder of Campbelltown father Jamie Phillips, 47, last year.
Gallagher was charged yesterday morning (Thursday April 4) with being an accessory after the fact to the murder by detectives from Campbelltown City Police Area Command.
Campbelltown PAC crime manager Detective Inspector Greg Inger said it was alleged the Ambarvale woman knew Mr Phillips.
“We are alleging that she assisted in the loss of some CCTV and the clearing of items that may have had forensic evidence on them,” he said.
The alleged destruction of evidence took place in the week following the murder of Mr Phillips, in October last year.
His naked body was found on October 25 by passer-bys in a vacant lot on Englorie Park Drive, Rosemeadow. A post mortem determined Mr Phillips died as a result of multiple injuries, including stab wounds.
Gallagher appeared at Campbelltown Local Court yesterday and did not apply for bail.
She is next due to appear in court on June 5.
Blair Athol man Nathan McIvor was charged with the murder of Mr Phillips last month.
He remains before the courts.
Det Insp Inger said he expects further people to be charged in relation to the murder.
