Sale of St John’s Anglican Church land on track

Nearly four months after St John’s Anglican Church Camden parishioners voted in support of the sale of land surrounding the church, the purchase remains to be finalised.
Moran Health Care Group has offered church authorities $7.7 million for the 1.3ha of land and rectory, with a vision to build an aged care facility.
The sale is set to fund a $6 million worship centre on the St John’s Church site.
Moran Health Care Group managing director Peter Moran said both parties were working through the finer details of the sale.
“We are just sorting through some paperwork,” he said. “It’s just timing.”
Mr Moran previously told the Chronicle the company would look to invest $30 million into a multi-denominational aged care facility.
The facility would house between 100 to 120 residents and employ about 100 people.
In a secret ballot conducted in September, more than 80 per cent of parishioners voted to approve the sale of the land.
