A man has been hospitalised after a truck rolled down a hill while carrying a crane in Sydney’s southwest, narrowly missing other vehicles.
Emergency services received reports of the crash about 3pm on Sunday, when they attended the scene on Remembrance Driveway, near Picton.
The vehicle appeared to have lost control making its way downhill before skidding off the road, flipping over twice and landing right side up.
A Picton Fire and Rescue spokesman said the driver, a man aged in his 30s, was able to remove himself from the truck after the crash prior to the arrival of firefighters.
Police attended the scene to manage traffic build-up and closed off part of the road while emergency services managed the incident.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver for multiple injuries, including possible broken ribs, at the scene before taking him to Liverpool Hospital.
A HAZMAT team also contained a major hydraulic oil leak, which resulted from damage to the crane.
