A proposal to raise the height limit of the Ingleburn CBD to eight storeys will be put on public exhibition by Campbelltown Council.
Councillors endorsed the proposal at Tuesday night’s council meeting and it will now be forwarded to the NSW Government’s Gateway Determination process before being put on exhibition for public comment.
The proposal would increase the height limit of the CBD to eight storeys from its current three and five-storey limits.
Zoning in some areas of the precinct also would be changed from medium to high density.
The proposal also contains plans for a multi-deck car park.
Labor councillor Karen Hunt said a lot of work had gone into preparing the planning proposal and she was excited to see the outcome of public consultation.
“A lot of planning has gone in to looking at how we can modernise the Ingleburn CBD,” she said.
Campbelltown Mayor George Brticevic previously told the Macarthur Chronicle the plan would help to revitalise the Ingleburn CBD.
