NAPLAN results: Top Macarthur region schools revealed

The tests assess students in Year 3, Year 5, Year 7 and Year 9 across the country on reading, writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation and numeracy.
Al-Faisal College, Campbelltown, an Islamic school based in Minto, was the top performing primary school in the region achieving results “substantially above” or “above” other schools with similar students in every component.
Cobbitty’s Macarthur Anglican School was the region’s top performing high school in the region, closely followed by Broughton Anglican College and Al-Faisal College, Campbelltown.
The vast majority of the region’s top performing primary schools were independent schools, which represented six of the top seven.
The only government school to feature in the region’s top 10 primary schools was Wilton Public School which achieved results “substantially above” or “above” other schools with similar students in all but Year 5 writing.
Not a single government school featured in the top 10 high schools of the Macarthur region.
