A man accused of luring a seven-year-old girl into an abandoned house in Macquarie Fields has been offered a plea deal by police.
Christopher Irwin, 34, is alleged to have enticed the young rollerblading victim inside by asking “do you want to see something cool?”.
Police say the Macquarie Fields man had removed the girl’s jumper before two men, aged in their 20s, and the victim’s grandmother entered the property and restrained him until police arrived.
The alleged incident took place in June.
At Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday, Magistrate George Breton heard a plea offer had been put to Mr Irwin by police.
“There’s been an offer from the crown and we just need some time to consider it,” Legal Aid lawyer Liz Saunderson told the court.
“Our application is for an adjournment to November 6.”
Mr Irwin is facing charges of take/detail a child with intent to remove parental control, remain in building with intent to commit indictable offence and two counts of failing to comply with reporting obligations.
The matter will return to Campbelltown Local Court on November 6.
If the plea deal is accepted, Mr Irwin will be committed for sentence. If the deal is refused, charge certification will take place.
The Macquarie Fields man remains in custody.
