Future vets studying at University of Sydney have bared all for a cause in their annual nude calendar, posing delicately with farm animals to raise money for the Black Dog Institute.

Pet food blind taste test

More than 30 soon-to-be vets have stripped down to their bare essentials, delicately protecting their nether regions with squealing piglets and adorable puppies to help raise money and awareness for the Black Dog Institute.

The 10th annual nude calendar by University of Sydney’s final year animal science and veterinary students saw the animal lovers pose naked across their Camden campus in a range of cheeky poses.

The 2020 photo shoot was stacked with farm animals from horses and sheep to chickens in a bid to create a fun, cheeky and relaxed calendar.

Calendar committee member Grace Iacobbe said the aim was to make the pictures as fun and candid as possible.

“Being naked in front of the camera is one thing but holding a squealing piglet while doing so was a bit of an extreme sport,” she said.

“I don’t think any of us will forget the experience.”

The calendar is hoping to build awareness and raise $10,000 for the not-for-profit Black Dog Institute, which focuses on understanding, preventing and treating mental illness.

Ms Iacobbe said the important cause was close to the heart of all students involved with recent statistics revealing that suicide rates for vets is four times above the nation average.

“Our models are from different corners of the world and we all have our own individual experiences with mental health,” she said.

We have a shared passion for animals, but also fighting against the stigma surrounding mental health.”
