A former teacher accused of grooming a teenage boy under his authority is facing four fresh charges.
David Robinson, of St Andrews in south west Sydney, appeared briefly at Campbelltown Local Court this morning as the new charges, four counts of sexual intercourse with a boy under his authority, were read out to him by Magistrate George Breton. The new charges were laid yesterday.
The 26-year-old allegedly had sex with the one male victim on four occasions. All offences allegedly took place in south west Sydney.
Two charges of aggravated sexual assault were officially withdrawn by the DPP prosecutor today.
Mr Robinson remains accused of possessing child abuse material and grooming a child for unlawful sexual activity.
No pleas have been entered on all charges.
The St Andrews man, represented by Marsdens Law Group senior associate Madeleine Hughes, sat in the back of the courtroom with a male supporter.
Mr Robinson was arrested in June following an extensive investigation by the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad detectives.
A search warrant was executed at an Appin storage facility shortly after his arrest where paintings, alleged to be relevant to the investigation, were seized.
The matter was adjourned for a case conference and will return to Campbelltown Local Court on December 11.
