CAMPBELLTOWN Council is set to build three new BMX tracks across the area.
Councillors are expected to approve the planning of a track to be built at Kanbyugal Reserve at Woodbine at next Tuesday’s council meeting.
Another two sites, at Seddon/Kennett Park at Glenfield and Thomas Acres Reserve at Rosemeadow, are proposed for tracks in the future.
With Camden’s BMX track in the process of being upgraded into a regional facility to serve both the Camden and Campbelltown local government areas, the new tracks in Campbelltown are expected to be smaller “pump” tracks.
Campbelltown Mayor George Brticevic said the new tracks would be an exciting project for the region.
“They’re not going to be your Camden champiohnship grade tracks, these are designed for a bit of old fashioned fun where the riders can just have a bit of fun jump the mounds and get a bit dirty,” he said.
“The Woodbine track will also free up the skate park a bit more as it can at times be a bit crowded with bikes and skateboards.”
Once planning for the Woodbine track is finished it will have to be approved by councillors before construction can begin.
