The expansion of Narellan Sports Hub is one step closer with Camden Council accepting a tender for the design of the precinct this week.

The expansion will feature a synthetic athletics track, criterion cycling racetrack, a new rugby league field and 14 new netball courts.

Camden Mayor Theresa Fedeli said it was exciting to take the first step into the expansion of the facility.

“Narellan Sports Hub is already such a fantastic state-of-the-art facility and the next phase will truly make it the sporting home in the Camden area,” she said.

“The Sports Hub has already hosted state netball and hockey titles and when stage two is complete, it will become a venue other sporting organisations look at to host bigger events with athletics and rugby league facilities in the plans among many other exciting things.

“This is just the beginning of great things for our state-of-the-arts facility and I am looking forward to seeing the final design.”

CHRISP Consulting Pty Ltd was selected to design the second stage of the facility, with the design consultancy works expected to be completed in early 2020.

The precinct currently features 30 netball courts, amenities building, playground, access roads and 400 carparking spaces.
